NAME :KaneOne

-What is your story how did you go from average rider to pro stunter?I bought a bike when I was 17, I figured it would be a cheaper mode of trasnportation. I had no idea it would take over my life, as it did. within 3 months I was doing switchback insanes, and 10 mile standups. I was never content riding it like a normal person. I quit my full time dayjob as a Body Piercer in las Vegas NV about 1 1/2 years ago to pursue my riding full time.

-Was there anything specifically that inspired you to start doing stunts/freestyle?I started riding in late 1999, soon after the Las Vegas Extreme 1 video was released. but had been hanging out around the wheelie spot since i was 16 in 1998. I remember when the video was first released and the impact it made on the las vegas motorcycling scene. The entire motorcycling scene in fact. If you grew up in las vegas riding a bike at that time all you wanted to ever be was a las vegas extreme. my self and my friend Bendoe would run around holding cameras and tagging alongside pauly and Dmann hoping to be one some day...

-How did you get hooked up with Las Vegas Extremes?couldnt avoid them... Pauly, Dmann, even old school Ofer would just be there.. every weekend. youd run into them at bike nights, the wheelie spot.. even going to cyclegear for tires and chances were youd bump into one.. They were just friends that happened to be really good at rocking freeway wheelies and riding backwards..

-Is there any special equipment or gear that you guys use?Plenty, the modern "stunt" bike has multiple reinforcements, and customizing done to them in order to make them more suitable to what we are trying to accomplish on them. in years past the bike were much more stock. my bikes in particular have been completely redone by RACING 905. Fairring stays, wheelie bars, custom subframes, braces, dual rear caliper hand brake systems, crash cages... Id added aftermarket clipons to all my bikes, and tilted the angle of the clipons out more so as to have more control. GPR Stabilizers are also suited on all bikes. Ive replaced all stock body work with lighter and more suitable Cheetah Race Bodies. removed and re-routed the brake lines, resevoirs so as to allow more clearance for my legs during combo wheelies. in fact ive even redesigned the shape of the upper fairring so as to accomidate me a little better for said combos.

-So how do you come up with new stunts? Is it kind of a competition between you and the other guys as to who comes up with the craziest stuff?Ive always found that the most innovation for myself is usually due to friendly competition and practice with different riders. Ive ridden with people from all over the country and have always picked up certain styles, skills, and technique from different riders. tricks that are popular in one city are unheard of in another. me personally when i try to come up with something new, its usually becuase of friends joking around which gets the mental ball rolling... what if?

-I would assume that with the amount of risk involved with what you do, that safety is a big concern.Saftey is definatley a large concern. Wrecking sucks. during exhibitions, competitions, and practice I always wear the appropriate gear. My NJK Leather jacket contains very protective padding and has helped me countless times. I protect my head with nothing but the best. Arai Helmets are known in the industry as just that, and are the only things I put on my head. if in the event i do fall off the bike at high speeds the last thing i want is gear that i cheaped out on. its worth the extra $$ for the protection.

-What's the largest event that you've performed at so far?My first stunt show ever was AMA World Superbike Laguna Seca 2002. over 100,000 people. the 2003 season brought me in front of the entire NHRA Powerade series and over 40-50,000 people per event, but the most intimidating yet was January 2005. I competed at the Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour (former Gravity Games) XSBA event in houston Texas. It was held indoors on polished concrete in a very small area. over 46,000 people were present and watching. very daunting. very fun.

-If you hit the lottery, what would you do? Buy a mansion, install a graveyard in the front yard, install a wheelie road in the backyard, and buy like 30 GSXRs

-What about an actress...who is your favorite? So what kind of movies do you like...I LOVE MOVIES!!! fav actors are: Christopher Walken, Johhny Depp, and Steve BushemiFavorite movies are: Night of the living Dead, Office Space, Terminator, and Haggard

The old SRAD GSXR was the greatest bike ever.. I flipped mine over end over end so many times and always rode it home...

-So how do you get hooked up with all these shows?persistence. I am my own promoter, and business manager. People arnt usually just going to bang on your door and try to do everything for you. I spend many hours online emailing, and on the phone contacting people for events.

-What are some tips that you can give for someone that's trying to get into street freestyle?Have fun, and think before you ride. Accidents happen. Tickets happen, impounds happens.

-What was your most enjoyable ride away from the stunting and freestyle?my most enhoyable rides have always been during the summer month of las vegas, after bike nights. about 20 of us would go blast up mount charleston to get hot chocolate and coast race back down the mountain. riding with friends is what motorcylcing has always been about. not how far you can wheelie, or how many circles you can do.

-Who is the best stunter in the world at this minute?i really cant say, there are so many talented riders, it hard to pinpoint just one. I am still very unfamiliar with many of the european riders. but have always had much respect and admiration for the man AC Farias. When i look at a stunt rider, I dont look at what tricks there are doing as much as I look at how they are riding. Style, fluidity, techinique. thats whats impresses me the most.

-Who is the best stunter ever?I have deep respect for my friend Crazy Martin. TRuly of of americas greatest stunters ever. He taught me everything about showmanship. Learning to ride with martin some 5-6 years ago... He would perform full on tire blowing stuntshows at a local gas station if a kid, or cute girl was watching. He has always been the king of showmanship in my eyes... much respect.

-Who do you see as your main competition?myself, I find my biggest competiton is my own deamons: Procrastination, motivation, proffessionalism, marketing. whew.. I have too much on my platter to worry about what others are doing.

-What goes on inside your head as you are riding? To make that time the best, the best i can do.

-The best part of being a professional stunter? affecting peoples lives in a positive manner. There is nothing on earth like having a little kid tell you that they want to be just like you when they grow up. I wouldnt trade those expieriences for the world. oh... and the girls.

-When is it appropriate for a guy to ride b&*ch when its 3am and your at your house in the garage working on your bike and are missing a certain tool, the 24 hr autozone is 12 miles away, your girlfriend took your car to work, and your friend refuses to let you ride his brand new 02 GSXR 750 because he think youll wreck it. only way to get there was to ride bitch on his bike.... it sucked.

-Whats the story behind the TV show Blind Date? Please explain...Ive been featured on Blind Date 3 times while still riding for and with the Las Vegas Extremes. we were the activity. The blind date TV show follows a certain formula: 2 people, they meet, they get lunch, they do an activity, they get dinner, they go to a hotbub... We performed stuntshows for the people then performed some tricks with the people on the back. I forced pauly to ride with the dude!!!

-Who would you say is your hero? I use the word "hero" lightly because it could be anybody. Anybody that inspires you?Carey hart... he proved you dont have to be the best to succeed.

-Without getting too specific, is sponsorship money in equitable to salary money?it depends on the situation. there are so many different levels of sponsorships. Many different ways to aquire Sponsorship money, and many different agreements that can be made through sponsors for said money.
